The Adrenalin Park will be open in the 2 seasons (winter and summer)
SUMMER ACTIVITIES
CANYONING TORRENTISMO Although Canyoning, the adventurous sport of the ‘90s, is still relatively unknown, it has been steadily increasing in popularity.
Hard to describe but easy to learn, this sport takes the partecipant, on foot, over small torrents which have worn smooth grooves into the solid rock. Various levels of difficulty are provided and, while negotiating the drops, slides and double-rope descents, one can admire an entirely different type of mountain landscape.
The descents are made in groups of 4-8 persons, with one or two guides per group, according to the number of persons and difficulty involved. No double-rope descent experience is required because the guides take care of securing and lowering each participant.
RAFTING This is the safest way to ride down large torrents. Anybody can participate, and you don’t have to have any prior experience to negotiate the waves encountered during the ride. The large but surprisingly, manageable rubber raft can accomodate 9 people, including the guide.
There are a large number of Alpine torrents, but our rafting activity is mainly restricted to those in the Tirol area because these vary widely as regards length and difficulty, which makes it easy to provide the right run in all possible cases, ranging from the novice to the well-experienced enthusiast.
The special feature about rafting is that it’s particularly ideal for promoting teamwork and friendship.
HYDRO SPEED This sport is undoubtedly one of the river sports that’s the most fun. You’re always in contact with the water, hanging into the floating shell and swimming
along with the current: a really fascinating adventure. With fast, strong fin movements you negotiate alpine torrents having different characteristics and degrees of difficulty...and all in complete safety. No wonder it’s often referred to as “swimming in live water‿. An expert guide leads groups of 5 persons maximun through all the torrent evolutions.
KAYAK For those who love a real challange, Cortina Adrenalin Center offers still another opportunity: river kayaking.
Our is one of the very few organizations that offers both group and individual instruction in this discipline. The latter, of course, provides the advantage of learning and obtaining good results in a short time. For the less adventurous, we provide a short course where one can learn to kayak on a calm lake or river where there are no significant difficulties to overcome
TAXI BOB WHEEL This new sport, which got started on the 1st of August , 1995, is particularly designed to appeal to anyone who would love to enjoy the thrill of going down the “Queen of the Dolomites‿ Olimpic run...in the summertime! The four-place Wheel Taxi Bob (driver and 3 passengers), aside from its wheels and brakes, is practically identical to the winter version as regards the runs made and speeds attained.
In addition to the classical run, where speeds of about 110° km/hr are attained, the Wheel Taxi Bob also provides “softer‿ runs, at speeds not exceeding 60 km/hr, for those who, although less intrepid, still want to experience the special thrills that the Wheel Taxi Bob packs into just over 60 seconds.
MOUNTAIN BIKE Outdoor sports, including Mountain Biking, are the best way to discover and truly enjoy the mountains. Mountain biking along the various trails winding through Cortina's woods and its beatiful Dolomite peaks will provide you with profound satisfaction.
Our standard ride, wich lasts half a day and includes a guide, starts and ends ot our base location. There are various itineraries to choose from and anyone can easily manage them. A van takes you up to starting elevation and, from there, taking one of the easy trails, you pedal back down to the valley, enjoying the pure natural silence of nature all the way.
WINTER ACTIVITIES
TAXI BOB Thanks to Taxi Bob, the thrill and emotion of speed on ice - once only reserved for legendary sports figures - is something which anyone can now experience, and in perfect safety. Since Cortina’s Olimpic Bobrun and modern 4-man racing bobsleds are used, Taxi Bob is almost like participanting in a real race.
Besides the pilot and a brakeman - both professionals - the bobsled carries two passengers, who are previously issued suits, helmets and belts, and are asked not to wear bulkyshoes (padded after-ski boots, etc.).
SNOW RAFTING In this breathtaking downhill-run, participants ride a rubber raft down the snow-covered hill located below the Olimpic Ski Jump.
When the raft is ideally loaded (8 passengers), it can reach a speed of almost 90 Km/hr after having gone just a few meters. When the raft reaches the long flat terminal area, the guides apply the brakes and bring the raft to a gentle stop.
Apart from the provided helmets, no special wearing apparel is required.
CIASPES This is trekking trough the woods and in the hills, in place you can’t visit in the wintertime unless you have a good pair of snowshoes. Snowshoes let you “float‿ on the surface of the snow, thus allowing you to casily and fuly enjoy trekking among the beautics of nature. A guide selects the most suitable trail to follow, according to the type of group and weather conditions. Each excursion group consists of at least 6 people.
CIASPES & COCIO
Some of the itineraries provide both snowshoe tekking and some nice, exciting downhill sledding. This fun-packed, unforgettable experience can be enjoyed eiher during the day, starting off the morning, or during the evening, strting off at sundown and, later, either trekkink by moonlight or by the light of pratical, miner’s type, forehead-mounted eletric lamps. Each excursion group consist of at least 6 people.
CIASPES, FOLADA & COCIO
This is the culinary version of “Ciaspes and cocio‿ where, after having made an envigorating climb with the snowshoes, the group takes a nice break at a charateristic shelter to try a few typical dishes and then toast their departure with a bracing shot of grappa. The excursion ends with an axhilarating downhill sled ride.
Cortina Olympic bobsled run is also ideal for what we certainly couldn’t leave out of our proposed series of sports: sled racing. In order to make it possible and perfectly safe for anyone to partecipate, just the last part of the run (about 500 meters) is used for this sport.
The start point is just above the large “S‿ curves: the run’s two most spectacular curves. Beside, of course, the sled, participants will also be provided with a full helmet and elbow protectors. Participants will be started off one at a time, and each participant’s run time will be duely recorded. At the end of the day, a table will be prepared showing how the participants performed. Crazy sledge is particularly ideal activity for groups of friends who what to enjoy the thrill of going fast and also the enjoyment of enganging in some friendly competition.
With the Moon light sladge program you enjoy a wonderful, dynamic after-dinner evening on the snow with your friends. First you go up the mountain to enjoy a bird's eye view of Cortina with its night lights, and then, wearing your protective helmet with its illuminated front piece, you take a thrilling ride down to the valley on winter sport's most "fun" vehicle, the sled.
If the atmospheric conditions are right, you can also stop at Cortina's astronomical observatory for a visit and a view of the stars.
A fun event, a semi-sportive run against time, and 3 persons on each team. The basic components of the gymkhana are: aerial crossing of a person in a harness connected to a pulley running on a suspended cable; a more or less active, athletic run, with or without snow on the ground, and "obligatory" stops for tasting typical grappa. The venue is the Olympic bobsled run where the large amount space, lighting and loudspeaker system, also permit the spectators to enjoy the "evolutions" of the competitors
SPECIAL CONVENTION
Besides proposing our listed standard activities, we also organizes special events for conventions and company initiatives. In addition to the already described activities - Taxi Bob, Snow Rafting, Canyoning, Rafting, etc., etc. – we also organize winter or summer gymkhanas, “scopone‿ games on ice, skiing and other group events that are not only a lot of fun but are also challenging from the athletic and competitive standpoints.
These proposals, which are very suitable for company-sponsored after-work activities, can not only assure the successful outcome of any company event held at Cortina, but can also surely strengthen the spirit of team work among the company’s employees.
The activities proposed are also ideal for groups of friends or sports clubs that want to get together for a really “different‿ day’s outing in the mountains.
All these events can be specially organized to satisfy the more “intrepid‿ types of groups as well as those who prefer greater “tranquillity.‿
